Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (227 g) Ground Beef shaped into burger patties
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) Salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Pour water into a large pot or container that can accommodate your burger patties and place the immersion circulator inside. Adjust the temperature as per the guidelines provided below.
  2. If you prefer, season your burger patties with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, or you can opt to season them either before or after cooking.
  3. Place the patties in a freezer-safe bag using the water displacement technique (details below) and ensure the bag is sealed securely.
  4. Submerge the patties in the water bath for the duration specified in the temperature chart below. After cooking, take them out of the bags, allow them to rest for 10 minutes, and use paper towels to dry them off.
  5. You have the option to cook the patties in a cast iron pan, on a barbecue grill, or using the broiler. Add more salt and pepper if you like. Serve with your preferred toppings such as Thousand Island Dressing, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, and bacon.

Notes

  • For a more succulent burger, consider adding a small pat of butter inside each patty before cooking.
  • Experiment with various seasonings such as onion powder, paprika, or Worcestershire sauce to enhance the flavor.
  • Ensure the burger patties are dried with paper towels before cooking to achieve a nice sear, and remember to lightly toast the buns for added texture and flavor.
