Delicious Kalbi chicken legs marinated in a rich marinade and cooked in an air fryer for a crispy exterior and juicy interior.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 chicken quarters
  • Kalbi marinade
  • ½ apple
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • 2 inches ginger, minced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks of green onion
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sweetener (sugar)
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing Kalbi marinade, soy sauce, mirin, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sweetener, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Juice the apple and add it to the marinade for an extra layer of flavor.
  3. Place the chicken quarters in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours for maximum flavor.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
  5. Arrange the chicken quarters in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  6. Air fry the chicken for about 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  7. Remove the chicken once it reaches a crispy golden brown and the internal temperature is safe.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving for a delightful crunch.

Notes

For optimal flavor, marinate longer and ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F.
