Juicy and flavorful chicken burgers featuring ground chicken, fresh spinach, and creamy white cheddar cheese for a leaner, delicious alternative to traditional beef burgers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¾ cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 whole grain burger buns
  • Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, red onion, lettuce, or avocado

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, garlic powder, onion powder, shredded cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (73.8°C).
  4. Toast the burger buns in a separate pan or oven until golden.
  5. Place each cooked patty on a toasted bun and add preferred toppings.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken mixture for at least an hour to enhance flavor. You can freeze shaped patties for later use.
