Ingredients
Scale
1 cup coarsely ground coffee (240 ml)
4 (16-ounce) Mason jars (473 ml each)
8 cups water (1.9 L)
Instructions
Divide the ground coffee equally, placing ¼ cup into each Mason jar, then pour 2 cups of water into each jar. Secure the lids, ensuring they are not overly tight.
Fill a large pot with water, enough to completely cover the jars, and insert a sous vide immersion circulator. Adjust the temperature to 150 degrees F (65 degrees C) as per the manufacturer’s guide.
Immerse the jars in the water-filled pot and set a timer for 2 hours.
Move the jars to a cooling rack and allow them to cool until they can be comfortably handled. Pass the coffee through a coffee filter to end the brewing process.
Pour the coffee over ice to serve, or pour the filtered coffee back into clean jars and refrigerate for up to one week.
Notes
– For optimal flavor and aroma, use freshly ground coffee beans in your cold brew.
– Ensure Mason jar lids are tightly sealed to prevent any leaks while brewing.
– Let the coffee cool before filtering to avoid burns from handling hot jars.
