A comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy sour cream and cheese mixture, baked to perfection.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the dish.
  3. Combine the sour cream, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Place one slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each chicken breast.
  5. Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. Allow to stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or seasonal veggies. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
