These Pineapple Cowboy Candy Chicken Wings feature a sweet and spicy marinade of pineapple juice and jalapeños, creating a mouthwatering dish perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. Place the wings in a large mixing bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and black pepper. Whisk until blended.
  5. Pour the marinade over the chicken wings and toss to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  6. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top, greasing it with olive oil.
  7. Place the wings on the wire rack in a single layer, reserving the marinade.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy, brushing with reserved marinade halfway through.
  9. Broil for an additional 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness if desired.
  10. Remove from the oven and let rest before serving, optionally garnished with extra jalapeños.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the wings longer than 30 minutes. Adjust the spiciness by changing the amount of jalapeños used.
