  • 1 cup broccoli florets (fresh, uncooked)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breasts (approximately 2 breasts)
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper (finely chopped)
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons dill weed (dried)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages crescent rolls (refrigerated)
  • 1 large egg white
  • 2 tablespoons slivered almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a 13 x 9-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the broccoli, cooked chicken, red bell pepper, and garlic.
  3. Add cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, dill weed, and salt; combine gently.
  4. Roll out one can of crescent rolls to form a sheet; repeat with the second can, pressing seams together.
  5. Pour filling into the center, leaving an inch from the edges.
  6. Cut the dough into 1-inch strips along each side diagonally.
  7. Cross the strips over the filling to create a braided look.
  8. Transfer to the baking sheet, brush with egg white, and sprinkle with slivered almonds.
  9. Bake for 24-28 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with beans or lentils. Ensure fresh ingredients are used for the best flavor.
