Delicious oven fried chicken wings that are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
  • ½ cup of buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and optional cayenne. Whisk until mixed well.
  2. Toss the chicken wings into the marinade, ensuring they’re evenly coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. After marinating, let the excess marinade drip off. Dredge each wing in the panko mixture, pressing to coat evenly.
  5. Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle olive oil or melted butter over the wings.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 40-50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Notes

For extra crispiness, pre-bake the wings for 10 minutes before adding the panko coating.
