Ingredients

  • Chicken pieces (thighs or breasts)
  • Honey BBQ sauce
  • Rice (white or brown)
  • Chicken broth or water
  • Onion (optional)
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Vegetables (optional)
  • Seasoning (like salt and pepper)

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, heat a little oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. If desired, add onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the honey BBQ sauce, stirring to coat the chicken evenly.
  5. Add rice along with chicken broth or water to the pan, bringing it to a simmer.
  6. Cover the pan, reduce the heat, and cook until the rice is tender and the chicken is cooked through, about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Stir in any additional vegetables if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Marinate the chicken in honey BBQ sauce for a few hours before cooking for deeper flavor. Use a lid to trap moisture while cooking.
