Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
  • 1 cup (30g) fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (60g) white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup (30g) breadcrumbs (or almond flour for a low-carb option)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • Whole wheat burger buns or lettuce wraps
  • Sliced tomatoes and onions
  • Greek yogurt or tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well but avoid overmixing.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into round burger patties, about ½ inch thick.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  4. Place the cooked burgers on toasted buns or lettuce wraps. Add sliced tomatoes, onions, and a dollop of Greek yogurt or tzatziki. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Consider prepping the patty mixture a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
