Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 lemons, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and thyme or rosemary.
  3. Coat the chicken breasts with the lemon mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For more intense flavor, marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight. Crispy edges can be achieved by broiling for a few minutes after baking.
