Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 lb party chicken wing dings, disjointed with tips removed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 89 tsp jerk seasoning, to taste
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp tamari
  • 1/4 tsp gluten-free hot sauce
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger or fresh grated ginger, if desired
  • 1/8 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, pat dry the chicken wings using a paper towel. Season them generously with salt, pepper, jerk seasoning, and baking powder. Toss the wings until they’re evenly coated in the seasoning.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Spray the frying basket with cooking oil to prevent any sticking before placing the wings inside. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding for the best results.
  3. Cook the wings for 15-17 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness.
  4. While the chicken cooks, melt the butter in a pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the honey, tamari, hot sauce, ginger, and smoked paprika. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Once the chicken wings are ready and crispy, add them to the sauce, ensuring each wing is coated evenly. Alternatively, brush the sauce onto the wings and place them back into the air fryer for an additional 8 minutes for extra flavor.

Notes

For the best crispiness, ensure the wings are dry before seasoning and consider marinating for at least 30 minutes. Adjust jerk seasoning to match your preferred spice level.
