A delicious and healthier alternative to traditional beef burgers, featuring spicy jalapeños and sharp cheddar cheese for a balanced flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey thigh meat (454g, 7% fat)
  • 2 jalapeños (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup grated sharp cheddar cheese (extra mature)
  • 4 slices streaky bacon
  • 1 teaspoon jalapeño hot sauce (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons chipotle mayo
  • 1 jalapeño (sliced)
  • 1 large avocado (smashed)
  • 1 cup pink pickled onions

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey thigh meat, finely chopped jalapeños, grated cheddar cheese, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add jalapeño hot sauce if desired and mix gently.
  2. Form the mixture into four uniform patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy; place it on a paper towel.
  4. In the same skillet, sear the burger patties for 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked through, adding a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  5. Toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading chipotle mayo on the bottom bun, layering with bacon, a cheesy patty, jalapeño slices, smashed avocado, and pickled onions.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider mixing in herbs or substituting different types of cheese.
