A delicious hot honey butter chicken sandwich featuring crispy fried chicken and a sweet honey butter sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • Lettuce or pickles (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least an hour, or overnight for deeper flavor.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from buttermilk and dredge it in the seasoned flour.
  5. Fry the chicken in the hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes per side. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. While the chicken fries, melt butter in a small pot and stir in honey. Allow it to simmer gently.
  7. Once cooked, toss the chicken in the hot honey butter, coating it generously.
  8. Assemble your sandwich using the toasted buns, adding the chicken and your preferred toppings like lettuce or pickles.

Notes

For the crispiest coating, let the dredged chicken sit for a few minutes before frying. Adjust the honey and butter ratio to match your desired sweetness.
