Delicious tacos filled with juicy chicken coated in a sweet and tangy garlic butter honey BBQ sauce, topped with fresh ingredients.

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • â…“ cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional chili powder.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked and golden brown. Let the chicken rest before slicing or shredding.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in honey and BBQ sauce, simmering for about two minutes.
  4. Toss the sliced or shredded chicken in the warm sauce until thoroughly coated.
  5. Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
  6. Assemble tacos with shredded lettuce, saucy chicken, cheese, red onion, and cilantro.
  7. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

For extra heat, add more chili powder or diced jalapeños. Use smoked paprika for a smokier flavor.
