Delicious tacos filled with juicy chicken coated in a rich garlic butter honey BBQ sauce, topped with fresh ingredients.

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for heat)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • â…“ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite variety)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder in a bowl.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the seasoned chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side until thoroughly cooked. Remove and let it rest before slicing.
  3. Melt unsalted butter in the same skillet over medium heat, then add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in honey, BBQ sauce, and lemon juice, allowing it to simmer for approximately two minutes until thickened.
  5. Slice or shred the cooked chicken and toss it in the warm sauce.
  6. Warm tortillas and layer each with shredded lettuce, saucy chicken, cheese, red onion, and cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately with lime wedges for garnish.

Notes

For a richer flavor, marinate the chicken beforehand. Feel free to customize the BBQ sauce for varied tastes.
