  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (190 g)
  • 1 1/4 cups water (300 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)

Instructions

  1. Set up your sous vide machine and preheat the water bath to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Rinse 1 cup of long-grain white rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. In a large, heat-safe resealable bag, combine the rinsed rice, 1 1/4 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  4. Seal the bag using the water displacement method to remove as much air as possible.
  5. Submerge the sealed bag completely in the preheated water bath.
  6. Cook the rice in the sous vide for 45 minutes.
  7. After cooking, carefully remove the bag from the water bath.
  8. Open the bag and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

  • Consider enhancing the rice’s flavor by adding a clove of garlic or a bay leaf during cooking.
