  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your sous vide water bath to 135°F (57°C).
  2. Place the shrimp in a large resealable plastic bag.
  3. Add olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to the bag.
  4. Seal the bag using the water displacement method to remove air.
  5. Submerge the sealed bag in the preheated water bath.
  6. Cook the shrimp sous vide for 30 minutes.
  7. Once cooked, remove the bag from the water bath.
  8. Carefully open the bag and drain any excess liquid.
  9. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  10. Add the shrimp to the skillet for 1-2 minutes to sear lightly.
  11. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and transfer to a serving dish.
  12. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  13. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • For a more intense garlic flavor, increase the amount of minced garlic in the marinade.
  • Enhance the lemony taste by adding extra lemon zest before cooking the shrimp sous vide.
  • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp while searing in the skillet to maintain their tender texture.
