Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Bamboo skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Thread the chicken cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers, leaving space between each cube.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Pour into the saucepan and bring to a simmer.
  4. Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup of water. Stir this into the sauce and cook until thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. Brush the thickened sauce over the chicken skewers.
  6. Grill the skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with additional sauce until charred and cooked through.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the sauce for a few hours before grilling. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
