Recreate your favorite fast-food chicken nuggets at home with this easy and delicious copycat recipe.

Ingredients

  • 11 oz chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon paprika (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (divided)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup sparkling water
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 4 cups frying oil (like sunflower oil)

Instructions

  1. Chop the chicken into a purée, using a blender or knife.
  2. Place the purée in a bowl with half the paprika and garlic powder, along with salt and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into nuggets and place them on a plate; freeze for 15 minutes.
  4. Heat the frying oil in a large frying pan to 355°F/180°C.
  5. In a bowl, mix the flour with the remaining paprika, garlic powder, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  6. Dredge the nuggets in the flour mixture until coated.
  7. Add sparkling water to the flour mixture to create a batter.
  8. Dredge the nuggets in the batter.
  9. Fry the nuggets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  10. Pat them dry with paper towels and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double dredging your nuggets. Dip them in the flour mixture, then in the batter, and back to the flour mixture.
