Crispy Malibu chicken features chicken breasts layered with savory ham and melty Swiss cheese, coated in a crunchy breadcrumb layer, drizzled with honey mustard for a delightful twist.

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup of honey mustard sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (if pan-frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if you decide to bake instead of fry.
  2. Season your chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper for maximum flavor.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour first, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Dip the floured chicken into beaten eggs, letting the excess drip off.
  5. Coat the chicken in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere them well.
  6. If frying, heat oil over medium heat in a skillet. Pan-fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
  7. Alternatively, place the breaded chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Once cooked, place a slice of ham and cheese on top of each chicken breast.
  9. Drizzle honey mustard sauce over the top before serving.

Notes

For the frying method, ensure correct oil temperature to achieve the best crispiness. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
