A classic recipe for crispy fried chicken, golden on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.4 kg chicken (cut into pieces)
  • 2 eggs
  • 237 mL milk
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 5 mL garlic powder
  • 5 mL seasoned salt (optional)
  • 237 mL all-purpose flour
  • 473 mL peanut oil (or canola)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Mix well until fully blended.
  2. In another bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, seasoned salt, salt, and pepper together.
  3. Dip each chicken piece in the egg mixture, ensuring complete coating.
  4. Dredge the coated chicken in the flour mixture, making sure all sides are evenly coated.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat the peanut oil (or canola) over medium-high heat until hot.
  6. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding.
  7. Fry each piece until golden brown and crispy, which takes about 10-12 minutes. Turn occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  8. Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double dredging the chicken and using buttermilk marinade for flavor.
