A comforting dish featuring juicy chicken breasts smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the chopped onions and minced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onions become translucent.
  6. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
  7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream and reduce the heat to low. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 5-7 minutes.
  9. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
  10. Serve the creamy mushroom sauce over the chicken, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and consider adding spinach or kale for added nutrition. Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving for better flavor cohesion.
