A comforting Chicken Stroganoff featuring tender chicken in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and onions, served over egg noodles or rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. Add chopped onions and garlic to the same skillet, sauté until translucent. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Lower heat and stir in sour cream until fully incorporated.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix to combine, heating through.
  7. Serve chicken Stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh ingredients. You can experiment with different types of mushrooms. Adjust seasonings to fit your preference.
