A delicious twist on classic comfort food, combining crispy bread with melted mozzarella, shredded chicken, and marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough or country white bread
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Butter, for grilling
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the mozzarella cheese, followed by the shredded chicken and marinara sauce. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  3. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwich until it turns golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Carefully remove from the skillet, slice, and serve hot.
