Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Additional black pepper, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season with salt and half the black pepper.
  2. Coat the chicken in cornstarch, ensuring it’s fully covered.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic and ginger for 30 seconds, allowing the flavors to bloom.
  5. Add chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and honey; stir until simmering.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes to marry all flavors.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining black pepper, garnish with green onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust the black pepper to suit your heat preference. The cornstarch coating can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
