A comforting and flavorful dish featuring crispy baked chicken breasts coated in a savory breadcrumb mixture, topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat each piece thoroughly.
  4. Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the top of each piece to promote browning.
  5. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven. Pour marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese atop the sauce.
  7. Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

Experiment with adding your favorite spices or using panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch. Allow chicken to rest before slicing for juicy results.
